An award-winning filmmaker and disability rights activist, Dan closed out our day at #TEDxAM13 with his emotional talk, “Disabling Segregation.” He shared his family's fight to ensure an inclusive education for his son Samuel, who was born with cerebral palsy. His son’s story was told in the Emmy award-nominated documentary, “Including Samuel,” the first of many acclaimed documentaries focused on disability-related topics. Dan also served on President Barack Obama's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities from 2014-2017.
