What's your favorite TED or TEDx Talk, and why?
The art of asking by Amanda Palmer. Her story and her message. The power of human connection is unparalleled.
What people or events have inspired you professionally?
My greatest inspiration comes from a former supervisor who, unfortunately, embodied the opposite of true leadership. Their toxic behavior taught me exactly what not to do, and I now approach every goal and team interaction by deliberately choosing a path that fosters collaboration, respect, and positivity.
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
I would eliminate hate.
How did you feel when you learned you had been chosen as a speaker for TEDxAM24?
When I learned I had been chosen as a speaker for TEDxAM, I was honestly frightened to my core. As a DJ, I’m used to captivating large audiences, but those moments include instruction, direction, and simple entertainment. I guide the experience through music, not personal stories. After some reflection, I’m grateful for the chance to step beyond the turntables and introduce myself authentically.
What do you most want TEDxAM24 attendees to know about you?
While I am often identified as DJ Kibar, Kibar from SNHU, Kibar the Lebanese guy, and others that you’ll learn from my talk; at my core, I am simply Kibar.
